Art collaborations & creative tech
I specialize in the intersection of art and technology — CNC, 3D printing, laser cutting, electronics, and interactive installations. Whether you need help with building or designing, I can bring your project to life.
Whether you’re looking to prototype a concept, refine a design for fabrication, or need hands-on execution, I specialize in:
- Digital fabrication — CNC machining, laser cutting, 3D printing, and CAD design
- Interactive & kinetic art — electronics, lighting, motors, sensors, and custom control systems
- Problem-solving & engineering — if your project has technical hurdles, I can help troubleshoot and find practical, even elegant solutions
I’m equally comfortable working from your detailed plans or collaborating early to refine a concept for fabrication. My approach balances creative vision with technical feasibility, ensuring your installation is compelling, functions reliably, and delivered within budget.
Autodesk Fusion for CNC Class
NextFab is transitioning from legacy software platforms to Autodesk Fusion for 3D modeling. I created a class to teach the fundamentals, designing a Mid-Century-Modern-inspired sideboard for the students to copy. The launch of the class was featured on a popular instagram account and sold out in a day.

Group Hug
An artist had an ambitious plan for a giant, immersive game. I designed bespoke electronics, software, 3D printed parts, and mechanisms to bring it to life. The installation was delivered on a tight budget and timescale and proved popular enough to get an extended run.

InLight 2024: Grounds for Clearing
Two local artists wanted a giant, zoetrope-inspired animation contraption on a shoestring budget. I designed and built all the custom wood and 3D printed parts, electronics, and control software. It wowed visitors, with some even describing it as their favorite installation at the event.

I’m not just a maker who’s a bit techy — I graduated with a Computer Science degree and spent a decade building complex software projects for organizations from government to fintechs.
This experience lets me focus on the creative vision without worrying about how I’ll implement it.
A reliable partner
I do this because I love doing it — I want the project to succeed as much as you do!
Don’t just take my word for it either — artist Yannick Lowery had some really nice things to say about me:
Stewart took my sketch and made it into a reality and then some.
Stewart was adaptable and also really straightforward about what was possible within the budget.
I would highly recommend Stewart — this couldn’t have been done without him. He’s highly professional, has great ideas, and he’s a wiz engineering-wise.
